AS YOU ARE NOW SO ONCE WERE WE
As you are now so once were we is a new kind of Ulysses. In it you won’t see Mr. Bloom and all of his mates walking through Dublin. You will see us. And you will see yourself in this imaginary country that is As you are now so once were we.
After almost a year of studying and departing and going back to Ulysses we finally reached the conclusion that we have set an impossible task for ourselves: we realised that it is simply impossible to stage what Ulysses really is about. Because it isn’t about Leopold Bloom; it isn’t about his cheating wife, or his deceased friend. And it isn’t about someone called Stephen Dedalus.
Ulysses, we discovered, is about all the things that make us believe and feel that we are in one place, one single place to which we belong. And this place does not necessarily relate to a geographical location but much more to the intangible feeling that you and I have in common much more that we think. It is a state, a hunch, or a belief. And that is an impossible story. That is not even a story but a feeling, an idea, a belief which is at the same time personal and universal.
As you are now so once were we is about nothing really. It’s about a day in which nothing special happens, a day that doesn’t exist beyond what each one of us sees and what you personally see. The 'dailiest of days'.
I feel now, when I see the show, that it is more about the experience of reading Ulysses than about the story of Ulysses itself.
It is about that unseeable and undefinable place where we are the same people living in the same place.

WHO IS FERGUS KILPATRICK?
“Who is Fergus Kilpatrick” is the result of a year of investigation and loads of head wrecking thinking sessions around the concept of reality.
All of our efforts to avoid theatre produced a surprising result... or, perhaps, not surprising at all. But one that until now remained as a secret to us.
“Who is Fergus Kilpatrick?” is our way to tell you our secret.
